Finally-my Boujou "hello world"!
CG element tracked with live footage! A seemingly small step, but a giant leap for me!
Footage: iPhone, motion track: Boujou 4, 3D: 3DS Max 2008, composition: AfterEffects CS4. In total, going from zero experience with Boujou, to this, was probably more than 20 hours--but being able to combine CG elements with live footage has been at the top of my list of skills I want for a long time, so it's totally worth it.
Thanks to Rad Scientists for the music - "Cartoon Ending"

NIN|JA May 29th 2009
For the Chicago show of the Nine Inch Nails NIN|JA tour, Bree and I took advantage of the once in a lifetime opportunity to go back stage, see sound check, meet the band, and see the show from the side of the stage! The experience was amazing, I will look back on this as one of the best days of my life, and I feel so grateful to have shared it with the love of my life.
Very happy with the set list:

Beautiful rainy day in Chicago
This is actually two photographs selectively combined to have focus on both the subject and the raindrops.

Reasons I miss the VA office.
3 short videos shot on a digital camera edited together. The music is RJD2's "Cut Out To FL". This was done in After Effects CS3, which is why some of the cuts to the beats don't match up! I will have to take Greg's advice and deal with all the audio in Final Cut Pro.

"Planet Horror"
This 2 hour project in 3D Studio Max and AfterEffects was the result of a false-start project Greg gave me. While I'm a little bummed it didn't happen, I'm psyched that it gave me a kick in the butt to put in some practice time with these programs.
Since I wasn't doing it for a client, I went ahead and threw on some horror style twitch effects, just because I love them so :P
In Malcom Gladwell's book Outliers he estimates that for anyone to become a master of a particular field it takes 10,000 hours. That breaks down to roughly 3 hours a day for 10 years.
My goal is to become a master in the field of video effects and 3d animation--and the implementation of said media in a way that is seamlessly integrated with their parent projects and interactive. To put that in more concrete terms, it goes like this: 3D STUDIO MAX > AFTEREFFECTS > FLASH
2 hours down, 9,998 to go :)
